Situated just outside of Knysna, The School offers relaxed and cosy, quirky farm-style comfort tucked between the rolling farmlands. The buildings are the original primary school of Rheenendal and have been lovingly restored and renovated by the owner Janet Meintjies in 2018 creating a peaceful getaway and arts studio. Each room is uniquely decorated and the mud cottage is a restored adobe building. The Elephant and Chapel rooms are ensuite with breakfast included. The Mud cottage is self catering with a private garden. The whole farmhouse, with 4 ensuite bedrooms may also be hired for stays longer than 5 days.
The School is beautifully located within 15 minutes from the National Park with its famous ancient trees, indigenous forest walks and picnic areas. The town of Knysna is also only 15 minutes away for shops, delicious dining and activities. Sedgefield is also only 25 minutes away with its pristine beaches and the Wild Oats farmers market every Saturday.
